Monday 8th November 2010 - this necklace was been award 1st place in the Open Category of BEADS GALORE (NZ) October Beading Challenge.
Thanks to all my supporters and fans who not only like my jewellery but who also voted for my entry.

It is created using dyed silk ribbon from Australia with barrel beads hand knotted throughout the strands of ribbon. The pendant is Fire Agate (purchased by by husband whilst working in Canada) with wire coiling detail and beads.

The idea for the necklace came form my Mum after she returned from her Spring escape to Europe.

To me the necklace reminds me of spring with a hint to summer to come and was therefore named "SPRING ESCAPE"

This was my first attempt at wire coiling and I was thrilled with the end result.
